Thermal Expansion of Liquids

Today, we discussed the data that we collected during the demonstration on Thursday.  In comparing the change in height of the water and isopropyl alcohol within the capillary tubes, we found that the thermal expansion of isopropyl alcohol is greater than the thermal expansion of water.

HW: Read the article discussing Brownian motion; complete the front of Worksheet 1; write a brief explanation of the mechanics of using a straw at the particle level.  Also, test corrections are due Wednesday.
